World Aids Day 1st December

It is World Aids Day tomorrow.

I received this from Oxfam...

Tomorrow, December 1 is World AIDS Day. World AIDS day 2005 is
particularly significant. At the G8 Summit in July, World Leaders
promised to have universal access to treatment for all people living with
HIV/AIDS by 2010. This is a great promise, but now we need to see action
to make this promise a reality.

On World AIDS Day 2005, Oxfam and the Stop Aids Coalition (a UK-wide
coalition of charities fighting for better access to care and treatment for
people living with HIV/AIDS) are letting Tony Blair know that the UK is
watching and expecting the UK Government to do their bit to keep this
HIV/AIDS promise. Oxfam asks that you join us on World AIDS day and make
your voice heard in the following way:

E-action: Eyeball your MP. Send an email to your MP to ask what the UK
Government is doing to meet the pledge of universal access to treatment for
HIV/AIDS by 2010.

Yesterday was indeed a bitterweet day. While a lot more people seemed to be involved in helping, it also seems to be getting worse; but at least we can try to make a difference, even if it's wearing the red ribbon for one day, at least it's a reminder that we should be working to end this terrrible disease, not just prolonging life.
