This is Tina on Ian's login. Ian is still in hospital but is recovering well.
Room 19 Bob Geldof's new Internet Radio Show
Broadcasted on TCR FM 106.8
Recording has just started for the first internet radio broadcast of Room 19, which will be aired weekly on a day and time to be announced. It will be presented by Tina McBain and Alex Farrell plus guest presenters. Produced and researched by Ian Gibbons. Bob sent Tina McBain this message to explain what its all about.
"In the days of the Soviet Union, Room 19 was the place where they kept the frozen brains of allthe dead leaders and "geniuses" of that unlamented brutal empire. One day they believes Soviet science would overcome mortality and enable those dictators to be revived to the benefit of all. Stalin lay in a jaralongside Lenin and various scientists etc. Our radio station is the same. A room of geniuses dictatingto you what you will hear from music so great it is frozen in time as forever genius. Wich is why you'llbe hearing a lot of my stuff. My site - my music!! Thanks and well done to everybody at BG.com, especially Ike & Tina Tamworth and their matesfor getting it together. But especially to Ian - a great mate of mine who is particularly responsiblefor this station but who is currently in hospital and bizarrely and scarily staring out of his window at the room opposite. It is a very wierd coincidence that the number of that room is 19!! That stuff happens.
welcome to our own personal Room 19. Too cool to freeze. To hot to hold the handle. BG"

This is Tina on Ian's login. Ian has been in hospital for a month. He is home now following a bit of a rock and roll time. He has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He is on meds now so all should be well.
Arrgee Ian would like you to be one of the guest presenters for one show of room 19 when we do the programme called Do The Rat. We can record your voice via telephony systems. Ian said jokingly that he is prepared for the wrath of willo tutting and butting, but Ian says he has the perfect alibi - he has a mental illness.
Thanks for all your well wishes everyone
Tina x
Ps. Saturday's mfest has been cancelled. The decision was taken by the promoters and Leeds city council. This decision is due to the extraordinary weather conditions we are having at present.

Thanks, never done any presenting. Reckon I'd be more interesting than Lydon was last night
I was in The Institute at the weekend, though quite a different one http://www.icmp.co.uk. Wonderful place. My son said I was like a kid in a sweet shop, when we went into the rehersal room.
Anyway, hope all is well with you now and let me know about the Do The Rat thing. Sounds interesting.
Time and place. We have to go to the station management with our wish list this week. Thats not to say we will get what we want. I have gone for Monday evening , corny i know. I feel we should not go to high brow. I thought 9pm would be good. Our first show of this type Beatlesandbeyond goes on air on Thursday night tune in and you will get a feel for how these shows work.
Well done Tina - really interesting show, enjoyed hearing Pete and how it all started in Crewe, Lynn being a Cliff fan and nice to hear Joey after not hearing it for a year or so. Looking forward to further shows and thanks to Scottie for pointing up the inaugral one.
Hi all, Ian hasnt been well, as you all know. But he is betting back to his old self now, well almost. Its Tina here. We have just done the play list for Room 19 week 4. Just added Talking Heads and The Ramones to next weeks list. The show is broadcast live on toginet at 2pm on Saturdays our time go to toginet.com and you can hear the show live. Toginet is a US based internet radio station playing and have been a great help to us at Room 19. You can also hear the podcasts on toginet. We are looking at the possibility of recording telephone interviews with some of you so we can play them on the show. I am investigating this right now.
I've got an interesting idea for a show which you can feel free to ignore. Rather than play the Rats or Geldof, simply play any song they covered. Would give some insight on influences.
