Well I'm not sure the awful weather is really due to global warming, think some of the blame should lie with the Rats and Bob Geldof:
In the Pouring Rain
Rain
An Icicle in the Sun
Wind Chill Factor
A Storm Breaks
Mudslide
The Soft Soil
Pale White Girls
And a sign of things to come: August was a Heavy Month?
What we really need is the sun to shine - and the sky to be Truly True Blue as I was Born to Burn ...
So anyone going anywhere warm and sunny?? I shall be off to Pembrokeshire camping in August - or maybe might take a boat rather than a tent! Or is everyone on holiday at the moment - it's very quiet around here ..
And as I write, it's tipping down, looks like I'll get very wet watching the Olympic torch go by this afternoon, hope it doesn't go out

Even back in 1982 Geldof wrote the line 'And when the wind bites cold/look at the rain/ England in May' (To The Bitter End) so bad weather in nothing new.
In Nothing Happened Today another weather observation is 'The weather was fair/ And then it turned cold/ It started to rain/ Was pouring with rain'.
There's Blow from How To Compose. Thinking about it Geldof has some great melodramatic weather lines in his songs like from A Gospel Song : 'And when the wind blows through October skies/ And you wake up in the cold twilight/And you stretch your hand out/and there's nothing there but the night....'
How about Close As You'll Ever Be? Or Another Piece of Red Sky At Night?
