As a teacher of 32 years, I thoroughly agree with him. Do away with targets, league tables, and let the children develop their own talents. Dont keep them down. Each one has something to give. I bet Bob was told at school he was a lost cause and look at him now.
you teach?i'd say cool but i dont know!lol.most of my teachers are gits but i'm sure theyr great out of the classroom. well actually know we're in year 10 they start to respect us more and stop treating us like children and have a laugh.and that video/interview is really interesting
It's all common sense really. What good can league tables possibly do? Total nonsense. Bob's right let the teachers get on with it, use their own experience, knowledge and creativity to do they job they do best.
I have every respect for teachers, they do a difficult and marvellous job.
Teachers don't have to be nice to be good, or horrible to be bad. It is only now 25 years on that I can appreciate all the things I was taught, not just in my academic education, but everyday things too, all the guidance I was given to help me in life. Invaluable. it is such a shame that there are so many restrictions and pressures on the role, that detract from the real issues.
