"An also-ran Irish punk" are the words used to describe our Bob, by the Express music critic Chris Goodman in yesterday's Sunday Express. This has really got my dander up! Are we going to stand back and let him get away with it? Of course not. I suggest as many letters as possible should wing their way to the Express in the next few days. But it must not backfire on us. Keep it civilised and let the editor see that Bob's loyal fan base are an intelligent, knowledgable and articulate bunch of people. Well, let's pretend anyway (Only joking!) We dont want to give him more ammunition do we and say that his fans are crap as well. Can I be really naughty and suggest that we prolong his agony? If those of us in the UK and Ireland do Tues/Wed, the rest of Europe/Thursday, the Americas/Friday and the rest of the world, wherever you are/ Saturday, then he will have to sit and read our letters all week, poor soul.
i'm not aloud to send an email at the mo so why not set upa petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/petition.html and we can all add our comments there which you can email.just an idea but...
May I point out that the DAILY EXPRESS gave an exceptionally good review to the box set "Great Songs Of Indifference", whatever may have been said in the Sunday Express article.

I dont have a link, but it was the very first line in a review of the year. "Could an also-ran Irish punk wipe out poverty in Africa?"Perhaps Geldof was on to something" Then he went on to talk about U2.
Just wondered do you have a link to the actual article, it is difficult to write anything without reading the entire piece?
Exactly. Reacting to an article we haven't read can make us look like fools. For example, although I'd be hard pressed to find a positive use of "also-ran Irish punk", if the rest of the article is positive, then the insult is just a shock tactic to grab your attention, which it did actually.
