Some poor camera work possibly caused by badly arranged and therefore annoying lighting, but interesting nevertheless and courtesy of YouTube which is regularly now hosting little-seen vintage bits and bobs:
Another remarkable find Mark. The performance of Elephant's Graveyard is very good-slightly surprised the used the full album version. If it was shot for Spanish tv I suspect that the locals English would not be up to getting the lyrical content of the songs, but interesting that such a gem should surface. Hope some of the Tiswas stuff gets unearthed at some stage.
I know plenty don't agree with me (as evidenced by this single only reaching 26) but I think the Elephant's Graveyard is an extremely good single. It's unusual to find different You Tube examples of it compared to say Mondays, although I do remember a Japanese guy putting a guitar overdub to it which was good but I can't find it now.
I think the Rats had the knack of making very watchable videos and this is no exception. It's surprisingly risque from Bob's breast clasp of the female Judge, to Simon & Pete scurrying after talent, to humping monsters and the psuedo-transvestite drenching finale after Simon's twisting umbrella reveal. Notice how Garry actually loses his wig.
Came up nearly 6 years ago but the latest version you have highlighted has remarkably good audio..he has posted a Banana Reuplic version and seems to have dubbed it somehow so it sounds better. They also performed Mondays on this show.

I had a feeling it might have been on YouTube before but wasn't sure. Anyway worth seeing again with proper audio .
A guy on the Rats Facebook site says he has old vhs of Rats on the Uncle Floyd Show, a US tv show from early eighties I think. This was in reply to Hamish from said site who is looking for rare footage for new documentary. Not sure which song/songs from Uncle Floyd Show as I tried googling and the only thing I can find is that the Rats did appear on the show,no date or song info to be found.
Anyway we should get more updates on Facebook as Hamish is back in action after some personal issues, so all is looking well for new album.
