... and Wilco for that matter.  Like one degree of separation.

The Boomtown Rats name came from Guthrie's book Bound for Glory.

Bragg recorded Mermaid Avenue which essentially was his reworkings of Guthrie's unrecorded work with Wilco.

And Jay Bennett of Wilco recorded Kicking at the Perfumed Air, which was posthumously released and covered Diamond Smiles...

So look forward To Geldof joining Bragg onstage to perform All You Facists!  (or not as the case may be)

Just in case anyone hasn't seen the origins of the name we all love smile . First reference is a couple of pages earlier.

That is really cool.  I have still yet to get all the signatures, never mind together like that.

Still need to get JF on there, so will have to work out how. Rest of book is quite a tough read (for me anyway). Wasn't one of those where you can't put it down smile

Lots of Billy refs in Rat Trap. Might be interesting to hear Bragg cover this song. It must have made some inpact on him growing up.
