A couple of responses over on FB so far, generally happy to go anywhere.
Yes you'll need a ticket to Ryde to come to me . There are buses on the island, some routes have buses every 15 mins, others 30 or 60. Shanklin and Sandoen are on one every 15 min route. I've never been WTO the iow so would be glad to hear of recommendations of reasonably priced nice pubs, easy to get to.
http://wightmouse.co.uk/. Looks nice, but might be a little inconvenient.

I've posted on FB a suggestion to meet up on Saturday night, for those who will be there already. Does anyone know of a nice pub that serves food? It would need to be served by public transport, so those without cars who are dispersed around the island can join us. Preferrably not in the centre of Newport.
Worth doing a quick poll on who is where (so the mountain doesn't have to go to Mohammet, or whatever his name was)?
I'll be in Sandown, along with Wes, Mrs Wes, Lisa and possibly nutty Joan as well. We can get on the old tube trains up and down east coast readily enough.
Are you in Ryde Jules? Will be easy enough to get a ticket to Ryde. I don't care
Haven't been over for some time now but a good one for food was the Wight Mouse Inn, in Chale I think, but that needs cars or cabs. It did have a stock of 365 whiskies way back when, so you could have a different one every day of the year, but no idea if that persists. Bit out of the way anyway.
He's right, but from what I can find Sandown has a couple of higher rated pubs. I'm easy though - will go with the flow, which probably means finding a pub that does good food with several vegetarian options
Just tell me where to be. In absence of instruction I'll head for the Castle in Sandown.

Several vegetarian options would be great - as long as they don't feature goats cheese! Sorry, maybe I'm not quite so easy as some ... Do we all have to wear our Rats t-shirts or will that look a bit uncool? Any update on t-shirt situation, ArrGee??
Well, this place caters for me, has a few veggie dishes (see what you think, Lisa). However, it is in Arreton, which is in the middle of the island and the bus service goes through it hourly. Would that be too inconvenient for people?

Sorry to cut across the tshirt discussion. Alternative pub which caters for me, has 3 veggie options and is in Shanklin, but not quite so cheap: http://www.crab-inn-shanklin.co.uk/old-english-pub/menu-menu/menu1_419.pdf
I would only want the one, ArrGee but not really keen if it's more than about £15 ... I would hope the medium size would be ok - the one I tried on was a large wasn't it? Let me know if you get more orders and the price comes down, and I'll PM address.
I need to be able to eat when I go to the Isle of Wight and Cork, so I will have to so no for now. Unless, I come into some money from somewhere .
Perfect, we will meet at the Crab in Shanklin - 7 pm, for those who wish to eat, otherwise whenever suits. Who will be eating and how many of you will there be, think I might need to book a table .
Fine by me Jules. Went to the Crab many moons ago when I stayed in Shanklin. Popular place from memory so booking probably sensible. Please add me if so, and I daresay Wes x 2.
Just me on Sat please Jules, as in wifeless, but I'm 99% sure Wes and Liz will join as we're all staying in same place. Can't remember if I asked but will either let Wes reply on here or, if no update soon, I'll ask him and feed back.
Book for them regardless I'd suggest. Easier to reduce a group that increase it on the day.
No probs. yes I posted a message on Liz's FB page. I'm not sure if Mark and Tracy are coming so have messages him too. Can easily update later anyway, just want to be sure they've still got the booking
Thanks for t-shirt, ArrGee - really pleased with it! So, won't nag you any more
Wear your shirt with pride! Everyone! The Whole World! (well all ten of us)
Only have three left (2 short sleeved large and 1 long sleeved large), fortunately my size if I get no takers. Also have an XL that has a substandard print, but ideal for a festival is all you plan to do is spill beer on it. Will bring it along to Cork give it to the first person who asks gratis.
