Ok, we expect to get there in the afternoon, but power head down to the festival until a bit later. There's one pub, so no need to discuss Meeting point. Who's up for it?
How many of us are going? So far, I think it's Jules, Suss, Noel, ArrGee ( not certain) Seems like it's going to be a small meet up! Wes may turn up unannounced.
Is there a danger of the weather for the Chagstock Festival being too hot? Weather in Ireland is really hot at the moment 25C-30C and it's set to continue for a few more days, at least.
Still it's way to early to say for definite.Normally it's the summer rain we have to worry about.
Do we know what time Billy Bragg is on stage and what time the Rats are on?
Not exactly sure. I think the gig is due to end late ie 11pm -midnight so I doubt Billy Bragg will be on before 8pm and the Rats to follow. Maybe there is more info on the chagstock website- it might help those who have to drive home to have a guide time for the headline acts-but as it's in a national park I suspect all rules will be followed strictly.
Billy Bragg main stage 8.15 pm Dizraeli & the Small Gods Marquee Stage 9.20 pm The Boomtown Rats main stage 10.25 pm
guess we could say 4 pm ish in the pub.

Nice of them to respond so quickly. I thought Billy Bragg was the main support. The weather forecast for Ireland and the UK is set to continue very warm, so I hope it´s not 30C. I´m not too fond of very hot weather, prefer it to a bit cooler.
No I'd prefer it not so hot. 20 deg would be nice . The other act seems to be on a different stage. I won't bother to seek them or and lose my Rats spot.

Where is the meet up point? Is it at the festival site, or Chagford village?
In the pub from about 4 pm. They serve food from 6 pm, if you need it. Post Inn.
All going to plan should be in the Post Inn, Whiddon Down around 4pm. Suss has kindly offered me a lift from Exeter Airport. Due into Exeter at 14.15. Really looking forward to this gig.
No need to worry about rain. Forecast for Dartmoor National Park is about 23C on Saturday, no precipitation.
Still struggle with the notion that Noel can be at home having a last cuppa in Dublin after I leave London and be there first
Almost every airport in the Uk has regular flights to Dublin and vice versa. Second option was flying in via Plymouth but Exeter is nearer, and it seems a bigger airport, being the access point to the West Country- lots of flights from Germany, Spain, Netherlands, France, and internal uk flights from Scotland, Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow, and Edinburgh (if Scottie wants to come down!)

It is crazy that it is easier and cheaper to get to Cork and Dublin from London than to get to Exeter or even the Isle of Wight.
