The Autumn shows,do we all think the set list will be the same for each venue?
Would be good if they could tweak for each date, going to quite a few of these so wouldn`t really want to hear the same set night after night, perhaps a few glasses of beer will help change my way of thinking. DO THE RAT..

They will be promoting a greatest hits album so most of the set will be the big hits. I should imagine they may drop the occasional surprise in, but the set will largely be the same each night. Currently I'd love them to do Up All Night and Nothing Happened Today.
Yes, certainly, a few pints of beer has a strange way of rekindling our enthusiasm.

Hasn't been so far.
There appears to be a core of about 16-18 songs, but there are probably others that could be thrown in without too much of an issue. I Can Make It If You Can would be likely as the Rats played it a lot as would the Feelgood covers (Back In The Night, She Does It Right, Cell Block #9, All Through The City). Interestingly, Living In An Island was on the set list for Hurtwood, but not played, and My Blues Away and Doin' It Right have been lurking on the set list for a while. There was a rumour they were going to do Kicks in Cork. It's even possible that Dave could be played, as Geldof, Briquette and Roberts have played it in the recent past. And of course, there are the new songs, Back To Boomtown and The Boomtown Rats.
Just found a gig they did back `78 at the Rainbow, and Blind Date for the Encore was Amazing, also played so Strange which to me is just Brilliant should have been included on Tonic Album... Also does anyone have the Lyrics for Late Last Night seems to be a Mystery that no one can find the Words... Anyone wanting a copy of the `78 Rainbow gig let me know ,will run you off a copy on cd and post out to whoever. Cheers run on Oct
Ron the lyrics for Late Last Night were printed with the reissued Fine Art of Surfacing cd that came out in 2005. I can dig them out and will have them for you tomorrow, no problem.
Also Geldof actually got us the words for It's All The Rage, via Jules of this forum. Another tricky one was the lyrics for Real Different, the are on the FAOS reissue as well, even though the song is a Mondo Bongo b side.
Just watch this space.....
PS the gig at the Rainbow is on Youtube -date is 15 Dec 1978

So strange and Lying again can be got on cd And B4 thr reissues in 05 the rats albums came out on cds in the usa way back in 1987 Tonic which has joey and mary on it as the rats 1st LP was never issued in the usa at the time Surfacing songs same order as the LP Mondo has Don't talk to me on it ( which was a b side) To never in a millon years the uas cds are in my opinion of a much better sound than the reissued cds of 05. Also Mercury reissued Tonic in 1992 which has the above two b side plus the b side How do you do. Another thing that get me the reissue of In the long grass states that dave the 1st song was the album version which is untrue this version of the song was never on the LP
