Couldn't believe my ears today. After the amazing gig at The Roundhouse I wondered if the guys of Concert Live could catch even some of the explosion of the Rats' (and audience!!!) energy. Well, they did. And they did f...ing great!!! Even without mixing, editing, post editing, post post editing, pitch shifting or whatever... one of the best live cd's I've ever heard. Period. Lookin' After No. 1 followed by Rat Trap, OMG, the house is shaking.
Amazing to see how packed with people it was, without a million pounds promotion campaign. Even at the walls of the Roundhouse, not a single poster. Only their names on the event calendar... By the way, very friendly staff and volunteers, not a bad word about them.
Back to topic: thanks to the technicians, thanks to the amazing Bob Geldof, thanks to the rest of BTR, great to see and hear Gerry again and thanks to the audience, they made this CD sound wonderful too. I couldn't sleep well at Heathrow Airport so it was a very long night plus one hour bonus for me, but it was it all 1000% worth it.
You really should have been there, it was so f...ing fantastic.
1,000 out of 10 for last nights show in Bristol. They even did White Lught/White Heat as a tribute to Lou Reed. You'd have thought it was their own song. What a band. They never cease to amaze me, every time.
