Best 2013 performance by The Boomtown Rats?...

For my money, the Isle of Wight Festival was a revelation. In front of such a huge audience, the band sounded unbeatable and Geldof is a master at working such big venues. I went to see them at Bournemouth and the Roundhouse (which Gerry Cott's appearance was a huge moment) and of course the longer setlist is great for a fan. But for me the Isle of Wight was first class.

Only went to 2, which is pathetic given some people's commitment!

Of the 2, Manchester was marginally better than Birmingham. Seemed a slightly better atmosphere and Geldof's voice was marginally better. It is marginal though and both were absolutely brilliant.

Well for me it's hand down a no brainer. Has to be BELFAST the gig was great And lot of the songs from this gig on you tube. For any of you that know Suss or got to meet him at one of the gig's, you can see him right up front in the Belfast gig. Would loved to have ben at the London gig Just to see Cott coming on So that gig would have to be way up there

For me the second night in Dublin was the best. I was unsure if going two night in a row was a good idea, but the Rats seemed to pull out all the stops that night. Geldof was on fire, a brilliant performance, and one of my favourite gigs ever.

Even more strange was that the band, allegedly had a very late night on Saturday, and yet could play like this.smile
