One of Geldof's weakest songs, and according to Geldof it was a rejected song from In The Long Grass, called It's My World. Bob and Johnnie did an interview with BP Fallon, where Bob tells Johnnie about the song being a would be Long Grass track and Johnnie says to Bob:'I just cant remember that one at all'.....

Morrissey was not too keen on the song and was pretty scathing about it, though in fairness any half decent song would have worked, as it was all about the cause behind the song, rather than it's musical merits. Maybe if it was a classic song then those who were against Geldof and the famine appeal would have less reason to doubt the sincerity of his efforts. I think the fact that the song was mediocre was used as fuel against Geldof at that time.

Anyway interesting to see this  clip.

Would say that Olympics does inspire some people, and maybe gives them the opportunity to achieve great things despite perhaps having disadvantaged backgrounds or suffering injustice, eg Paralympians. I guess music also gives similar opportunities depending on support and own will to succeed ...

Hmm, not sure whether to be flattered to be quoted or not! Baffled perhaps ... Mind you, reassured that someone does read the drivel I post sometimes

Hate to be a bubble burster but I'd be amazed if that was a human extracting and quoting your prose....

Well you're a real bubble burster, aren't you!  Or a burble babbler or something like that nana.gif  If that's you posting of course - can you prove you're a human??

Did you like the alliteration there?  See my prose is obviously worth extracting and quoting
