Listening to some absolutely wonderful Live CD's this past few weeks after witnessing the Boomtown Rats LIVE at Vicar Street!
Boston 1980 is perhaps my favourite, a rollicking good show
Middlesex 1978
Hammersmith 1982
- Are there any live boots in circulation from the pre 'Troop's days of this fine band; from 1976 or 1977?
Also for those who know their live Rats, what would be the best 'Bongo' era one to hear, not sure how many songs from 'Bongo' got played Live but as I love the album so much, would be great to hear it live!

This is the best of the 1977 sets. I suspect the links have expired.

There is a live fm recording from Bremen, in Germany, from Jan 1981.
Haven't heard it but the first four tracks are Mood Mambo, Straight Up, Banana Rep and Elephants Graveyard. I would love to hear the live version of Straight Up and Please Don't Go.
Certainly This Is My Room appears on a number of live tapes from around the Mondo Bongo era.
Like so many here, the unquenchable thirst for any new sounds from that most wonderful of bands, the Boomtowners!
P.S. After years of not fully 'getting' 'Long Grass' - not enjoying it as much as the others, last night I had it on and something clicked; I loved it!!
