I didn't really go for Bob's silver faux snakeskin suit tbh - u know the one he wears all the time pmsl

well, I dunno really, I mean I spose I have mixed feelings about it.

funnily enough, I bought some silver coloured snake skin patterned skinny fit trousers before I had the pleasure of seeing bob in his silver snake skin patterned suit.....

I wore them once on a date. I never wore them again and never saw the date again either lol. so that put an end to that. I decided in the end that the trousers were very tacky, untasteful and vulgar.....

hmmm... I have to say that I think bob looks pretty good in anything you put him in...... but isn't there something a little garish about this particular suit??

just not sure about it..... at least that was my first initial reaction.... sort of 'hmmmm.... yuck' sort of thing.

Not keen on the snakeskin suit myself either! Though glad it is faux of course. I haven't any pictures any more but remember Bob looking good back in the day in a bright blue longsleeved t-shirt. Also had a poster of him in pink trousers, half unzipped and chains wrapped around his chest - I really liked that look The tousled brown hair and slightly sardonic expression also appealed. Just that air of attitude really.

I prefer all the early Rats attire also. I hope he gets a different suit this year, but then he's still wearing the same old stuff for his solo tours.

Apparently he hasn't changed his pants since 1977...

Liked the denim at Live Aid. Also the black/white/grey check jacket, but not the sky blue padded shoulder shirt with red cord sash, Liked the sleeveless black/white striped shirt of 77. Really not keen on the ITLG tour garb though...sort of scuzzy green t-shirt and shapeless joggers.

I have never been inspired to dress like geldof at all. Looking back, he has generally been a fashion disaster.  I still have a fear of him turning up dressed as Krusty the Clown Again. He can't own a mirror.

The ITLG garb was horrific. The clothing being worn on the LP cover was dreadful and way out of kilter with 1984/5. Looked ok around Diamond Smiles/SLAY period but generally did not like:

Trousers half mast, checked shirts and red braces (V Deep)

Plastic sandals (Elephants Graveyard)

Olive jacket (Clockwork)

Really guy's Is this what it has come to. Apart from them looking like star's, when they were riding it high in 78/79/80, That's what I liked about them, they were themselves, did not fall into that we must wear this we must wear that. Like most bands of the day. They were just a one of. Which was great to see. There's always someone looking at you

So you think they turned up to the V Deep photo shoot all coincidentally wearing checked shirts and braces? Or the ITLG shoot accidentally all sporting the colourless, dreary scutz look?

They went for a look 82 to 84 that was a fashion disaster.  That's fine, they still made some brilliant music, but let's not pretend they were 'being themselves' any more than Dexys were in 82 with dungarees.

A group goes for a look, a feel and an image no matter what they pretend.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it fails.

Let's be honest, if it was about how they looked, I'd never have bought a record.
