Recent thread on best lines got me wondering about the various uncredited or anonymous contributions across Rats repertoire, such as the Whitehall 1212 vocals mentioned.
Any certainty out there about who said:-
Can I speak to Blake of the Yard?
To Whom?
I't's a Fair Cop Guv (Bob?)
Are you really going out with Adolf? Gee?
Hold it Fellas. Watch the Birdie
All the banter at start of (vinyl) Do The Rat
The 'Fall Down' deep voice (Garry? Never sounded like Bob to me)
----
I'm sure there are others I've overlooked so feel free to chip in with those, and any suspicions/facts. Producers must be a strong likelihood I guess, but the 'female' ones on Eva Braun really intrigue me
One of the voices on Do The Rat is BP Fallon, who was the Rats 'publicist' in the early days. He is the guy who says 'well the thing is, the question that remains to be asked is, what infact is The Rat?' Not sure which rat is doing the 'phenomenon/Philomena' bit. Its a pisstake of an Irish country accent, so most likely is either Gary, Simon or Bob. I doubt if it's Pete, who was from Ballyjamesduff, well away from the sophisticated metropolis (ha ha).I'd hazard a guess it is Gary doing that bit.

Thanks Noel. Interesting stuff. Where did you find that out about BP Fallon? He was at the Belfast gig if memory serves me, although I had to be told who he was as I'd never have known waht he looks like.
Any idea who was warbling 'Joey's on the Street again' at start of Do the Rat?
Also, Mark L, I don't remember hearing that spoken 'up all night extended version' anywhere? Is it one recording in particular?

In the eighties BP Fallon used to present a weekly programme on RTE Radio 2 in which he played all sorts of odd music, and interviewed lots of famous rock stars, including some very good ones with Bob Geldof and Geldof and Fingers around 1984-1986
. Falllons voice is very recognizable, perhaps very English, as I think he went to boarding school there, and he worked with bands like T Rex and was a bit of a 'scenester' in the late sixties, and then he met the Rats in the early days and has always been a fan since. I'm 99% certain the voice is BP fallon, makes sense as he was heavily promoting them at the time, and who knows may even have thought up the whole 'talking intro' on DTR vinyl version.
Very prescient of the guy to say 'Mondays has always been Rat day in our family innit'
