1. Tonic - absolutely iconic cover, though years later I remember being disappointed when I noticed the white unfinished sections between Bob's hand and the Tiger's mouth and between Gary and Bob, thought that was a bit slack.
2. Surfacing - was first ever lp I bought, so may have influenced its high placing, but again its iconic -only thing vaguely similar I can think of is Nevermind years later
3. Long Grass - an us against the world outsider kind of defiant vibe, that summed up the band at that point in time and also what it felt like to be a fan then
4. V Deep - never understood it but it was classy and mysterious and like it for that
5. Boomtown Rats - front cover is very dynamic but never liked the suffocating in plastic bags idea especially of the rear cover, and not helped by the fact the upper 3 rats appeared to be engaged in intercourse with the lower 3
6. Mondo Bongo - far too smooth an image for the Rats, made worse by the posters in the inner sleeve
