Fantastic, might be able to get to Oxford, but they seem to have towns this time round they missed. These include Newcastle, Glasgow, Lincoln, Liverpool, Portsmouth, Leicester. Bristol, Manchester, Cambridge, Bournemouth get second helpings. It's very possible they may do some dates in Ireland.
I suppose if they are playing London on the last night of the tour, they could play another venue in town the following night. Friday night is superb. The kids will be pleased that I won't have to cancel their half term trip to Chessington. Very good news.
Also Cambridge looks very doable. If I make a sharp exit before the final encore, I should be able to get the 10.50pm train back to town. Fortunately the Junction is right next to the station.
I'm doing Oxford, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Bristol and London. I will think about Wolves but Oxford Utd are at home that day, so I'd have find my own way.

Just London and Cambridge again. Will wait until November for my fix as tempting as Heartlands sounds.
Think I will miss Heartlands, already done/doing enough festivals. Unless they they do any further ones in Oxfordshire. Saving my cash for an Irish date or two. Fingers crossed.
what is the difference between the £175 and the £200 meet and greet price? Please no-one say £25.
Ah! I so wanted to as well. I think £175 if you already have a ticket, £200 if you don't. But who knows, maybe you get something a little extra for the little extra. No way I'd meet and greet Geldof. If the tour manager knew it was me, there'd be a bit of argybargy!
I bet the exclusive merchandise item is the signed 10" single.
haha. I knew it would be too tempting. Just out of interest why would there be a bit of argy bargy?
Ah a long story but once upon a time I dared to criticise cancelled concerts and expensive merchandise which ended with the tour manager calling me a knob and wanting to string me up.
I'm hoping for Dublin, Noel. See you in Oxford. How happy am I about that one?
Galway is a nice city in the west of Ireland. Great in summer anyway. Might make a good Irish venue.
I certainly would put Oxford on my 'priority list'- it's a Saturday night gig to which always helps. Anyway great to have lots of choice and see the Rats bandwagon rolling on into a second year. Who would bet against more gigs in 2015, particularly if these ones are successful? (or am i getting ahead of myself as usual ?)
I'm hoping the Rat wagon goes on rolling to 2015 and beyond. . Look at the Rolling Stones, they can still manage it.
Be good to see lots of familiar faces here in Oxford. Easy to get to from London, everyone. There are regular buses running through the night and trains (very expensive and I don't know when the last one runs). It's a pity the Oxford-Dublin flights was such a disaster.

I'd do anywhere I could get to Ireland .
Oxford is about 1 hour on the train from Birmingham International, so getting there is very easy, with frequent flights on the Birm/Dublin route.
Oxford is too near London and Birmingham to have its own airport. Might work as an airfield for local flying but not as a full time viable airport, with international flights.

It does have an airport. There were flights to Dublin and Ediburgh. It was a tin pot outfit and there was a huge bust up between ground staff and flight staff. The commercial outfit fell apart. Think it is back to a training airport again. Shame. It would have been very handy.
Got the London tickets, but gig not showing on Cambridge Junction site this morning. Will check later. I just hope suss goes to Cambridge else it'll be a bit dull on my own. Will try and get there a bit earlier this time as I will catch the train rather than the bus that was stuck in the Cambridge rush hour.
Have every intention of going to Cambridge, and I'll drive if lift required, at least back if not there as well. See you before then hopefully though.
I thought you'd stay in Cambridge given The Rats will be in Leicester the next day. I plan to catch the train home as the venue is next to the station, but happy to keep you company on the drive home if you can stand it again Train costs much the same for single or return (10p difference), so I will get the return ticket anyway.
£35 for a room at the Travelodge next to the venue, but you have to pay £7 for parking. Did consider staying overnight, but it is less than £20 for a day return.
I bought my ticket directly from the Cambridge Junction website today - sorted!
Ah good, at least there will be two of us there

For others considering it, book direct and ticket is only £26. You can collect the ticket on the night saving all the stress of forgetting where you left the ticket.

Not enough holiday . Last week of tour will be day trips but at least they're in this half of the country and doable. Good run from Cambridge gets me home not too much after midnight.

That's what I thought - I never know when old age will kick in to the point that I'll actually forget the ticket........!

In that case, I'll get a single to Cambridge. I'll take the lift home as you're going my way and get you a couple of beers at the Forum on the Friday.
Does anybody know anything about plans for a tour in Germany?
I am a fan from childhood. Last year I saw the rats at a festival in eastern Germany (where I was the only one who knew them..) and then flew to London for the show there in october. But I can not do this every year

It's odd there haven't been many dates outside mainland Britain, there have only been four Irish dates (Cork, Belfast and two in Dublin), and only two in Europe itself that I can think of. There was the Australia/NZ tour that was abandoned because of poor ticket sales. I suspect it is unlikely they will play much outside the UK and Ireland as I don't think they would get a big enough audience to justify the expense of touring.
That said, if they have a date in Germany, I could be tempted to book a flight and try and catch a Bundesliga game the same weekend. Rats in Dortmund sounds good!

Does sound good, shame there's not a viable market or logistics for combi events....football followed by band in same stadium . 80,000 watching Rats. Would be bigger than that gig 29 years ago today.
Personally I'd love a Hamburg gig, and chance to take in a St Pauli match same weekend.
It's strange, there are many "official" vendors and some seem to have tickets, others don't. I have managed to order and I can see my order at Ents 24, but no confirmation email yet...
Contacted the customer service, hope I get some good news in the next few days.
Anyway, I can't image these gigs selling out this early....
Of course, the "meet ang greet" packages were all available But who would want to meet Geldof?
It is strange that there so many official sellers.
I don't think the meet and greet tickets will sell out. £200 or something ridiculous. Who has that money to spend? I can't imagine who might want to meet Bob Geldof, can you?

Hear, hear. As much as a fan I am of this band. No way I would pay that kind of money just to stand beside Bob. I have come across him a few times over the years and I have to say on some of them he was not a very nice person Rude. But I am sure whoever pays him the £200 he will be nice a pie. As bob say's in one of his song's Never in a million years. No matter how much I like a band I would never do this no one is worth that much just to say hello to.
I've always found him very polite and friendly, but can tell when he's not in such a good mood . (So far).
It baffles me why he's done this. He knows how it is for people these days. That's about half my month's salary!! Outrageous. Lol. Yes, I always want to say hello to him, if I can, but I'd rather be able to eat. . Yes,even me.
I will be organising a meetup (as with any others I go to). This is my home town, so there's something extra special for me and I'm wanting to share it with as many fans as I can.

Happy days That would be nice. Oxford is a really nice place I have been to a few times over the years. My Bro lived in oxford. I'm from Ireland Belfast so if you see me with a bag don't worry ha ha
