For me has to be Rat Trap (I sense a result of Germanic proportions!), with SLAY an honourable third

Rat Trap for the cup, Someone's Looking At You for 3rd place.

I've got to agree with everybody who has voted so far - Rat Trap is an obvious winner with SLAY third.

Virtually impossible choice. Rat Trap for World Champion and Banana Republic for third place (not the long live version though, just the normal album version lol.)

Well, I love both Clockwork and Rat Trap - but am voting for the underdog, just love those lyrics, you're born in tears and you die in pain ... And just love the energy in the song. Will go for SLAY as third, I do like Banana Republic but have got to admit listening to live versions of it has put me off a little bit!

Sorry Lisa, you need to withhold that vote for a bit. Needs to be 7-0 before any consolation scoring allowed smile

Talking of World Cup, if anyone has Panini stickers 318 and 372 duplicate and willing to trade I'll be your BFF. Like the competition itself, I'm now down to last 2, before my album is complete.

Here's hoping...

I'll join Lisa in the awkward squad and go for Like Clockwork. I just relate to it more, while Rat Trap sounds like someone else story. Clockwork is Bob stepping into John Paul Sartres shoes and giving us a neat summation of his existential philosophy in a 'pop song'.

Doubtless Rat Trap is a great song but Clockwork is just more personal for me and that's why I give it the Jules Rimet trophy.

As regards 3rd place play off definitely Someone's Looking At You ahead of Banana Republic.

In the real World Cup I hope the Germans win over a very boring and dull Argentina. I was happy they trounced Brazil, a team that seem to be living on a reputation that well exceeds their real ability. Brazil have been pretty mediocre since about 1982. The Germans are streets ahead of all the others and maybe they will get another hatfull on Sunday.smile

Haha! Awkward?? Contrary maybe, but never awkward! But yes, I know what you mean about being able to relate to it more, rather than listening to someone else's story, though it is a bloody good story!

I know, let's have another competition, and the best suggestion gets a prize!  smile

I'm sure I'd find a use for stickers of any kind........I go to a burlesque dancing class.

I've got about 150 duplicates you're welcome to if you can find the 2 I want. I won't even ask what you'd actually do with them! blankstare

As neither of these look like they will need my casting vote, I will go with Rat Trap to win and Someone's Looking for third.  I wonder if Mondays had gone through from the group instead of Eva Braun if it would have been a different outcome.

Rat Trap for the final

Someone's Looking At you for 3rd place (just pipped Banana Republic overall, even though imho BR has the better lyrics)
