Wish Bob would move around a bit more in this. Seems a bit too casual and a bit passive. I've been watching the Hammersmith 78 DVD for the last few days, getting ready for Guildford and what a performance. Here it's like he's barely awake.
Maybe he is just trying to be cool and pretend he is unfazed at Sweeneys. How about the Strypes supporting the Rats on their autumn tour? I think that would be a sell out.

Good idea Noel but please don't announce it yet... I still have to buy my tickets. Not decided yet if it's going to be Sheffield - Liverpool - Manchester, or Portsmouth - Oxford - Cambridge

We should have a North v South poll to help you decide. If I was in your shoes, I'd check out what's happening in the cities before deciding. might be something good happening at the same time. All things being even, I'd go to Oxford and Cambridge as they are nicer places to walk around and have good restaurants and decent nightlife. Oh and you get the bonus of seeing another gig with me

What's Sheffield s** city like? So much for the punk rock spirit if your only concern is 'nice restaurants'!Surely night life in Liverpool and Manchester is as good as Oxbridge? Unless you wanna run into the Bullington Club letting their hair down on a Saturday night.
Oxford is top of my list, even over London. If they play in Dublin maybe the Olympia on Dame St rather than Vicar St, which is a bit dull and smallish.Vicar St has nice bars and facilities but the 'arena' itself is not so good.

Yes it's all very tempting , but I will probably bring a friend who will come over for one gig only, and in that scenario the Northern option is better...
Of course I want to do both actually. Hmmm decisions decisions ...

What, Portsmouth v the rest?? They're all up north!
Reminds me of when Plymouth played at Selhurst and their fans decried a hefty Palace challenge with 'you dirty northern bastards!', LOL
To be fair Oxford/Cambridge are small enough you can feel like you've "done" them on one visit, and offer far more to the 'tourist' visitor. I'm sure the others provide a better flavour of real local life in the average pub though.

Never been to Liverpool, so can't comment, but Manchester at night can be a bit scary.
Don't go into the city centres as much as I once did but always felt bit safer in Liverpool than Manchester. Like anywhere though you can just be in the wrong place at the wrong time......
Well, it's decided, it's going to be Sheffield, Liverpool and Manchester. My good friend and her daughter are coming with me & my partner.
Too bad I won't be meeting you Arrgee, and some others. But hey, there's always a next time!
I have Newcastle, Glasgow, Lincoln and London. and Skegness, so see you there Joke. Are you going to Italy? Poor Vince has broken his shoulder a few weeks ago, but is still playing.
