No not the anniversary of Irish independence, something far more important. 2016 will be the 40th anniversary of the Rats formation (or is it October 1975?)

Geldof mentioned before Rat Trap at Guildford something like 'it's a Rat Trap, we've been telling you this for the last 40 years.......'

Whether its Oct 2015 or sometime in 2016 it will be 40 years since the Rats were formed. It would be nice to think that this milestone will be celebrated with some live gigs though at this stage it's too far down the line to say for sure.

Anyway hard to believe it's nearly 40 years. Time seems to speed up as you get older.smile

I've got a feeling it was Oct 75. After a Carfest post by Jules elsewhere,  looks like there will be something to mark the 40th anniversary of the Rats forming.

No doubt a new greatest hits package too

Same here. 1975 was the start of the Rats. Would be nice to see a one of gig with all 6 rats on the stage.

Scarily because their first gig was Halloween 1975.

Not so scary though as I never heard of them until 1978.  Maybe they could do Halloween in Dublin next year. It's a Saturday night to boot.

While they are at it they should resurrect The Seasonal Turkey Tour.    I always like bands playing at Yuletide, gives me a good excuse to avoid the office party.
