I've just made the decision to go to the London Forum gig and have booked my flights for Fri 7 November. It was a choice between this one and Oxford but I decided for London in the end. Had to choose before the flights started rocketing but came away with a decent priced flight to/from London on a weekend.
Last time around the london gig was not the best, but why should it be? Might have liked to go north to Manchester or Liverpool or Newcastle for a change. Anyway hope it's a good one and not the last, or second last as Exeter might have that disappointing claim. 1975-2015 will be 40 years and hopefully more gigs.
Does anyone have any particular gigs they are looking forward to?
I'm looking forward to all of them, but Oxford is extra special because it's my home town. It also seems to be a popular choice for many of the fans to come to.

Hear hear, Roll on Oxford. Your home town then Jules lucky you nice wee place I have family that live in Oxford and my son is going to the uni
I have an aunt living on marks road ( Think that's what its called.)Her name is Smith. I also had a bro who married an English girl from Oxford sadly he is no longer with us and his remains are in an Oxford grave, he had two sons and one girl. I would not really know them as my bro died 20 years ago. He lived in a place called Blackbird leys at the time. I was only over at his home once in 83 Loved Oxford, but not the area he lived in at the time. He did move out to a new wee area B4 he passed away new house's at the time was about 20mins drive from his old place
There seems to be a lot of Rats fans with Oxford connection. Where are your family from?
We are from Ireland But my aunt went over to Oxford in the 60s to live. and my bro went over to live in the same area when all the sh?t started kicking of in Ireland(North)

I thought the Roundhouse gig was very good. Not as good as Cork, but all in all better than Cambridge if for no other reason than having a sax player and cott turning up. In terms of sound, definitely the best. Not sure many of the other dates sold out and it was great to see the rats sell out a big London venue. Best rats gig I have seen in England since the 100 club.
Ps I won't count the polo club nor Whyteleafe as they were invite only.

I'm hoping Bristol will be as good as previous, for last year and when G&S Rats played there, but other than that any new venue (for me) is one to look forward to. Oxford gets bonus points for being reasonably close and at weekend
Hi,
I also booked flights and a hotel for the London gig again, as there are no signs for any shows nearer to Berlin. I loved the Roundhouse gig last year but to be honest, I hope they won´t play exactly the same set and Bob won´t tell the same jokes as last year, because I heard it hundreds of times on cd
Looking forward to meeting you there!
Looking forward to Wolverhampton and London gigs - and seeing some of you there.
Always difficult to tell if the best gig is the last one you went to or the next one that you're looking forward to! I guess it should (hopefully) just be the one you're at! There you go, philosophical view of the day for you.
If you're looking out for some new jokes, I could try and pass some on to Bob - but no doubt he'd just tell me to f*ck off
Bob has a new joke. He's taken to telling everyone to take the clothes off. No doubt he'll adapt that for all the gigs, instead of festivals. Same old stuff about THAT suit. .

So far this century, Cork was the best. Big crowd, first headline date plus meeting fellow fans and friendly locals in the bars and venue.
The worst Rats gig I went to was at Blackheath. The band weren't too bad but the set was abridged and the crowd pretty sparse and mostly disinterested. I also had the shock of seeing Bob Bradbury for the first time who didn't seem quite right as the singer. I really thought it was the end of the Rats. And then a fortnight later in Dublin, the same band played a superb set in Dublin. And a couple of months later they announced the Isle of Wight date.

I am so looking forward to London.I missed the last one and I am taking my mrs with me this time and it´s her first Boomtown Rats concert.Hope to see you all there for a pint or 2.
I'm looking forward to the Cambridge gig. Last year I saw them in Norwich, which was fantastic - you could get really close to the stage there and the Rats were undoubtedly the best band I've ever seen in a venue that size!
