There are a number of Tweets (including one by Chris Evans) that the Rats have confirmed CarFest 2015. That's both North and South - Hampshire and Cheshire. I'm hoping so, this 2014 South was over my birthday weekend. . Time will tell if this is true.

If true, then it looks like the Rats will be doing another year. I thought they may have stopped after the current dates. I wonder if they will do any big festivals next year. I did expect something comparable to the Isle of Wight this year.
I wonder if they will do another tour or just stick to festivals. Hoping this is true and they'll do another tour. It can't go on forever, but I'm loving it while it does!
According to tweets Hyde Park was mentioned by Chris Evans on Radio 2 today, in relation to the Boomtown Rats. I wasn't listening, so I've no idea if that's true and exactly what was said. Was anyone listening?

I suspect the festivals and tours go hand in hand. By doing the festivals, people who have seen them turn up at the venues. I suspect they get paid well enough for the festival appearances and it is low risk as any cancellations or low attendances aren't down to them.
It is possible they may just do festivals next year and not tour Britain. Some of the venues on this tour are smaller than last time out. Cambridge Junction is smaller than Corn Exchange; Forum is smaller than Roundhouse. None of the dates have sold out from what I see and I don't imagine it makes financial sense to do sixteen date tours in smaller venues. Well not unless lots people are paying for the VIP meet and greet.
Given my aversion to heading outside the M25 and standing in a muddy field I hope they do tour next year
CarFest was conceived by Chris Evans and is an event that combines classic cars, live music and food whilst also raising money for BBC Children in Need. The festival will take place on Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August 2015 at Oulton Park Race Circuit, in Cheshire, and there's a sister event in the south at Laverstoke Park Farm. I can get to Oulton Park, in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, in 20 minutes. Postcode is Crewe 6 (CW6).

We're delighted to confirm that we've booked the BOOMTOWN RATS to appear at Rebellion. Featuring Bob Geldof, Simon Crowe, Garry Roberts, and Pete Briquette the reports from their recent gigs have been amazing and we can't wait to give them a Rebellion welcome. youtu.be/opd14v2I7Ik

Isn't this where we all came in back in 2008?
