Well if the tickets arrive, I'm dragging my brother along (he lives in Codsall so it's not much effort for him and it's costing him nowt) but it's been 5 weeks since I rang the Civic Centre and paid for them......
I usually organise meet ups to any venue I go to and this is one of them. It's only because I advertise it on Facebook. If someone local suggests anywhere, that's better. We usually go somewhere near the venue, that serves food for those travelling, veggie options for the veggies and I'm wheat and dairy free, so somewhere I can get something too .
To be honest.Yates is pretty ****,depending on what you like. There is a new pub just around the corner opposite pop world[im not sure what its called or even if it does food but it does some great ales lol.
50 yards from the Wulfrun

Must be good if you can't remember name! Dog and Doublet maybe?
The blurb on their website says they do hot pots and cobs (filled rolls) you can also bring your own food apparently! http://www.thedoganddoubletinn.co.uk
Obviously we'll go with whatever Jules decides. We probably won't arrive until 7 ish, but will be great to see everyone!

The pub Wes is on about is The Lych Gate Tavern, its only a minute or so from the venue but if you carry on the main street for another minute or so you'll come to a cracking little pub called The Posada. This place tends to get the older clientele so it should suit us old fogies lol..
It isnt the Lych gate--I know that well and have spent many a happy hour in there lol--although that would have been another option---It is the dog and doublet that is even newer than the Lych gate and really close to the wulfrun--I'm sure they did food but i didnt eat so not 100%
I also love the posada lol--but no food to my knowledge---Im beginning to sound like a pisshead here
Beginning to?? Nah, it's ok Wes, we already knew you were! Well maybe we'll just have to do a pub crawl, see which one suits?
But actually, we will probably find somewhere to eat first, maybe a curry - I think I deserve to be wined and dined a bit more than a cheese sarnie and a packet of crisps
Anyway let us know when you've decided on a pub ... Look forward to seeing you all there xx
Though on second thoughts, do I want to be surrounded by old fogies and pissheads? Hmm ..
That sounds like the typical Rats audience. Well me at least.
Well I had heard rumours to that effect
I'll admit to being the latter, but refute the first one though my kids might disagree ...
No half measures. I like being around the more mature concert goer. Far less likely to have them sticking an iPad in front of you or pi$$ing down the back of your leg. And that's just the girls!
PS I can't believe pissheads got past the profanity filter. I'd fcuking get rid of it if I had the choice
Not sure I could pi$$ down someone else's leg - maybe my own but hopefully not - and I haven't got an iPad. So I'm quite respectable really. But not sure I'm ready to be called mature yet ...
Actually I'm surprised about it getting through profanity filter too - I just copied Wes though - I'm easily led!

Recent Libertines gig was one of the worst for pi$$ and vomit. Worse still it was indoors!
Not sure I'm ready, but I just accept it. My latest gig going rule is to only see bands where at least one member is older than me. Tomorrow night, it's Happy Mondays. Others lined up are Difford & Tilbrook, The Boomtown Rats (of course) and Damon Albarn who is just a little younger. Fcuk knows why I'm off to see Royal Blood, that will be piss, puke and iPads galore.
