mmm, funny you say that.  I did end up with the CD due to a weird series of events.  I idly put it in my Amazon shopping basket when it was £3 just to check it was free delivery as discussed elsewhere and accidently checked it out with one-click.  I then tried to cancel it, but was too late thanks to the prime super fast delivery to the locker.  I then contacted Amazon who said I could just leave it in the locker and I'd get a refund.   Anyway, the day before, I ordered something for Mrs. ArrGee who entered the code to collect her item and "helpfully", two of the drawers opened.  She duly brought it home and I opened it to find the CD.  (sigh)

Anyway, I have it now. I don't know who wrote the notes, but Brenda Ann Sawyer?  FFS Don't these people have google?

Well,  actually that's so convoluted,  it has to be true and in any event,  you could just have said nowt and we'd all be none the wiser!

It is quite ironic in all the circumstances!

Anyway,  I suspected it wasn't thee - I think we can Suss out who kindly treated Jules!

I spotted that sleeve note howler - very sloppy.

I know.  I doth protest too much.  Still aside from the sloppy sleeve notes and the mis-spelt Joey's on the Streets (sic) Again, it's better packaged than I'd have expected of a budget CD (though I have yet to listen to it).

According to the back of the case this is the Geldof selection which is odd as it omits Banana Republic and Diamond Smiles which are staples of his solo show never mind the Rats.

I'd send it back, but it'd cost me now. Maybe more than £3   I probably won't ever listen to it cos I made my MP3 CD of all the albums and just play that in the car. Rarely play CDs in house.  Maybe I should bring it to Maida Vale and get them to all scribble on it.

So Modern now has AutoRip, so if you contact the helpful Amazon people, they will put it in your Amazon cloud so you can download it and play it on the move.  Still only £3 for the CD whilst it is £6 for the download so just could buy the CD and chuck it and save £3!

Amazon's pricing is puzzling at times.  The other day I bought the Noel Gallagher LP on vinyl which came with a CD enclosed for £9.81.   As it was on AutoRip, the MP3s duly arrived in my Amazon cloud.   At the same time, the MP3s on their own were £9 and the CD was £10!    Sadly the LP price has since increased to £18.

Reduced to £2.99 with autorip. Sadly you have to spend another £17.01 (or £10 on books) to get free delivery since the start of May. Shame as I was planning to get the FFS LP from amazon...

Even at £1.99,  using Election terminology,  Arrgee will still see this as:

CON HOLD!

As an aside Loudmouth is also £2.99 on amazon with free autorip

www.amazon.co.uk/Loudmouth-Best-Geldof-Boomtown-Rats/dp/B000006YYA

And the US Greatest Hits (containing a lot of not what I'd consider hits) can be got for less than £2
