Beware that parking might not be easy for this. There was a car park behind the pub we are meeting in, but I'm not sure whether it is still open. student accommodation is being built there. I will try to find out. Otherwise there is no car park near the venue and street parking is restricted. There is street parking some way up Iffley Road and then you can walk or bus down. Also give yourself plenty of time to travel into Oxford. There are major roadworks on all routes in.
Just found out St Clements car park is open. It has 80 spaces. Pay and display. Could cost you about £9, depending how long you're there for. Postcode OX4 1AB
Was great to meet you, and all the other Rats fans. Oxford great, The fans great, The gig great. Over just a great wee weekend. rats played well to what looked like a full house to me. And Great photos by the way.
Second that, was a good gig and great to see so many in pub beforehand.
Possibly the 'liveliest' crowd since reformation, if you measure by fact someone got escorted out by stewards after about 3 songs. Mind you, there's a difference between dancing/enjoying yourself and randomly barging through people knocking them and drinks flying. And whilst I'm not a huge advocate of constant photos/filming I did sympathise with the guy in front of me who was being deliberately shoved just to spoil his footage. I put it down to the Saturday night factor; Manchester was lively too. People have hours of drinking time and in the main hours of recovery time next morning. Can't remember if Wolves was as lively. I was too pissed
Incidentally Jules, how come you missed the ITLG visit to Oxford Feb '85?
