Anything would have fared better than Charmed Lives! Would have preferred to see Up All Night or He Watches as third single from V Deep. I'm playing V Deep a lot at the moment and these are both superb tracks. UAN comes in a variety of formats, but the version from the '82 UK album is best.
Don't think very many b sides would have fared better than the associated a side. Late Last Night and Man at the Top are unlikely to have got higher than 13 and 3 respectively. There's a chance I suppose that Real Different would have beaten Graveyard's high point of 26 and that Don't Talk to Me might have surpassed Million Years' 62 achievement.

It's a good song but would have required a re-sing at one particular point to have stood any chance of airplay!
