I don't have an actual favorite but these I particularly like: My Birthday Suit, Hotel 75, Voyager 11, A Rose at Night, One For Me, Scream In Vain, Dig A Ditch,In The Pouring Rain, Crucified Me and Mary Says/How I Roll.

Mike there is a 'french mix' of Pale White Girls on the anthology cd which is really good. Not sure if you have heard this but it improves/enhances on a song that was pretty good to start out with.

Still wondering will Geldof record next with the Rats or solo?

Don't mind either solo or rats as long as he/they do something just rec geld of live in Cologne 1990 concert on cd got hole to fill on it which I love

Agree with many above: Here's to you, A Rose at Night, Dazzled by you etc.

But for me the greatest Rats/Geldof song ever was left off the album!

I refer to "The Fields of Spring".

For me, it's like the Kinks leaving "Waterloo Sunset" off Something Else!

IMHO, Geldof's entire career might have been very different, if he'd had better advice with track selection. He would have had a stronger string of albums, if he'd left off certain weaker things and included others like Hotel 75 mentioned by Manatthetop above, etc.

Well the Rats put many great songs on b sides, good in that when you buy a single you get a quality track.Bad in that Mondo Bongo and V Deep could have been improved with some of the b sides being promoted to a sides.

I too think Fields of Spring should have been of How To Compose Popular Songs. I've never liked Dazzled By You, not my cup of tea. Blowfish and Mary Says were the best two tracks on that album. I agree with Jules in that Bob most likely gets to choose what's on his albums but sometimes an outside view might be better .

Pete Briquette was a big champion of Harvest Moon which Bob played at the gig in Islington a few years ago. Again that was not on an album but is pretty ok.
