Just rec it'll us. Lp diff versions of drag me down. Lucky and rain. Also has anyone else found the quality of. us lp seems a lot crisper / clearer than UK version of lp?
I have this one But on tape only I do find that the sound is much better also think Drag me down is much better this way along with Lucky Rain I just give that one a miss. Messed up a good song in Dave
Have a search around forum. Pretty sure this sort of thing has been covered before so people's views are probably on here elsewhere. By all means give us a shout if not found.
For what it's worth I don't find any of the alternative versions superior, but agree production is crisp. Sadly for me that just sums up the period and trend. Not sure the Rats were meant, or wanted, to sound like and compete with Huey Lewis etc.

I might be alone in that view
I don't really care for any of the alternate versions either, but I suspect the superior sound is more due to the better pressing of the US LP rather than the production. Same with Mondo Bongo and Tonic for the Troops which are both better. I don't have the US Surfacing nor V Deep but I suspect that they would sound better as well. The US Surfacing CD is definitely superior to the remastered CD.
