Why are hits relevant? It only had one single released off the album, hence only one hit. The Rats first LP only had two hits, but that's because only two singles were released. Doesn't make it anything less than brilliant.

Don't worry. i spend half my life championing little known, almost obscure bands and artists and trying to get people to listen to them. Not that it does me much good. I am well aware of how having hit singles is both relevant and irrelevant. I'm more of an album person anyway so I tend to judge acts by albums rather than just singles.
Some of the Stranglers stuff is a bit iffy.Either sexist(Peaches, Nubiles) or verging on racist sometimes (Goodbye Toulouse). But I love Duchess and Skin Deep two of my favorite Stranglers songs. Something Better Change is another one.
My original point was rather that having only one hit on the album was a bit atypical of bands that go down the playing the full album route. Also Black and White seems like an odd choice instead of Rattus N or No More Heroes. Anyway judging by the dates this is an extensive tour and the Stranglers have a big fan base so it should work out for them.

Sexist? Almost certainly! Battersea 1978 http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/stranglers-battersea-1978.html
Racist? Maybe. Depends on your interpretation of songs like I Feel Like a W0g.
Interestingly, Hugh Cornwell did a No More Heroes tour back in 2012. Black & White is my favorite Stranglers LP so I'm glad they are doing it ahead of the others.
