Interesting clip, but Elvis wheels out the usual 'Geldof can't sing in tune' nonsense whilst Bob gets a dig in about Costello's republican views maybe with a 'he'll be singing the national anthem' retort.
For what it's worth, I think Elvis Costello is the most interesting and eclectic songwriter/musician to come from the punk/new wave scene. He can be good, bad or indifferent, but he is someone who is always worth listening to. I didn't get the dig on his republican views nor the out of tune singing reference. From what I heard the reference was regarding his Green Shirt being the new Republic of Ireland kit and the national anthem thing seemed like harmless banter. Not something to insult someone over that's for sure.

I trust Geldof enjoyed his prawn sandwiches.
Gaby says she hopes they will all be tuneful later on and Costello can clearly, I thought, be heard saying 'as long as he doesn't sing', nodding towards Bob. Less clear, but it can still be made out, is Geldof saying Costello will join in with the National Anthem. Costello is hardly a staunch monarchist.
Your turn now : what's the prawn sandwich reference about.....
The prawn sandwich brigade attend football matches primarily to enjoy luxury boxes and corporate hospitality, rather than support a team. Based on a quote from Roy Keane, a famous Manchester United footballer.

Would have took some time to work that out but then I am not that bothered about football and not that cynical about Bob's attendance there.
Great singer/song writer Hard the beat Oliver's army
Agree here. Was surprised when I heard 'I can't stand up for falling down' was a cover of an earlier song and a little disappointed but always quite liked them, apart from when Costello wheeled out the 'Geldof can't sing' prattle. He plainly can sing and it would be virtually impossible to spend over 120 weeks on the singles charts, with 6 of them at number one, unable to sing.
