The lyrics aren't terribly complimentary (clue's in the name), so when I heard BG and Nigel Farage mentioned in the context of the same news item I guessed BG would be in the Leave camp. Of course, I guessed wrong. Have I completely misunderstood the lyrics (e.g. Europe as a metaphor?) or has BG's views on the matter radically changed over time?

P.S. One of my favourite B-sides, lots of agreement on the 'Favourite Rats B-side' thread.

Great B side, but never really tied the lyrics into the EU or thought of it as a political song.

Has it appeared on cd though? Wasn't on the remastered release. Shame

Quite like this song played it a lot when single was out in 82 wish it had been on album instead of little death but that's just my humble opinion

To say the Rats were versatile is a gross understatement, but the Little Death was a step too far
