I tried to listen to the Royal Blood debut but didn't really get it at all. Just one more in an ever ending line of over rated hyped up 'modern' bands. I don't try very much now to keep up with music as most of it is rubbish.I notice also that I am very quick to judge a band.I kinda know if they feel a bit special, but that's a pretty subjective thing I suppose. Lyrics tend to be pretty important for me and again so many of the more hyped contemporary acts seem to fail in this department.
I'm currently enjoying Morrissey's Vauxall and I . Picket up a second hand cd of this recently and used to listen to it back in 93/94 when it came out. Weird hearing again songs I had almost forgotten about. I like Radiohead but don't particulary want to be standing with 40,000 people listening to them. The records are much more intimate and don't smell of the great unwashed.
