Magenta is the best, you know she really makes me laugh. She's always trying her impressions. She wants to be a photograph. Magenta Devine was so modern, so 20th century. Alas, she is dead.

Scott Walker. The great experimenter whose influence on the likes of David Bowie, Julian Cope, Radiohead and Pulp shaped muchof the music that I adore. Never saw him live but was privileged to be at the Scott Walker prom which celebrated his music.

Scott Tracy of Thunderbirds is dead. A true legend.

A liitle trivia. Scott Tracy (aka Shane Rimmer) has allegedly appeared in more James Bond movies than anyone else.

Phil May, lead singer and main songwriter of the 60's group The Pretty Things has died. Fond memories of listening to a lot of their stuff about 10 years ago. Certainly an influence on Dr Feelgood and their raw r n b and later psychedelic albums well worth checking out.

Sinead O'Connor died today. A big Rats fan like her brother. So much so she had the same manager, Fachtna O'Ceallaigh. Geldof ripped a photo of Travolta, she ripped a photo of the pope!  Her version of Nothing Compares To U is iconic.  Only 56.

I dont think it was ever covered on this forum, but all weekend I was reminded of Dolores O'Riordan of the Cranberries who died just over 5 years ago with Dreams being played as Limerick won the Liam McCarthy in Dublin and then hearing Zombie in the hotel bar post match.  She was just 46.

Two great Irish rock star women.  Stars that burned so bright.
