Sam and Daz at Breakfast - 27/01/2020 - BBC Sounds

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p08077xc

Starts at 2.25 approx.

Sorry not sure link is working. Short interview with Bob Geldof.

Bob says TGB was obviously choice for single, slags off West Midlands accent a lot, recalls Simon LeBon sleeping on his floor and says he's looking forward to tour and playing new songs. Says TGB is mash up of Roxy/Mott the Hoople and New York Dolls.

Not a great interview but Daz played Mondays, Someone's Looking At You, Rat trap and Trash Glam Baby.

Thanks for this Noel, just had a listen. Trying to think which bit of the video was filmed in Burntwood and why?!

The interview was phone-based so not great quality but puts more meat on the bones. Bob says the cities of Birmingham and Newcastle were important to the Rats as was Scotland. I do wonder though exactly how many times Simon le Bon fell asleep on his floor in London at weekends....

The Roxy part seems to have been mashed up beyond all recognition. The Br(y/i)ans will be turning in their limousine.

And aside from the stars on the face in the lyrics and name checking the New York Dolls I dont get the others either.

PS Could the Br(i/y)ans record together again?
