Thanks Ian. Great interview. Bob laments that radio stations are not picking up on TGB. Alex describes it as a great track for radio, very loud, and Looking After No. 1 and Diamond Smiles were played in full. However, the record company have got the album under embargo, so he could not play anything else from Citizens of Boomtown, despite Bob encouraging him to ignore the embargo.
Sh*t was replaced with sick in the relevant places, including Serafinas closing lines.
He seems to be repeating the same thing in each interview, almost like a script. Good chance that monkey song will be next single, hence the record company embargo.
Great that Diamond Smiles was played on the radio. Not sure why TGB has received so little airplay but shouldn't impact on album or concert sales as anyone interested can just download or stream the song or listen to it on YouTube. The days of waiting around for your favourite song on the radio are long gone, to quote Steely Dan 'over a long time ago, oh yeah'.

The old staples are always in there (the abattoir, the 'career' in music journalism etc) but there's always good variation in delivery and whilst the charity shop prattle is now a familiar ingredient in radio station interviews, there's always some extra titbits (the album embargo for instance) to provoke interest aided by his generally engaging style. Although one woman phoned in to say she had to immediately switch the radio off because of his 'politics'
I must ask Mrs L to stop phoning DJs in the afternoon
Not sure why TGB has received so little airplay...
Where would it get played? The Who got zero airplay for the singles off their last LP. Anyway who listens to radio for new music? I have Radio X on most of the time and the playiist is mostly 20th century.

How did she know it was safe to turn it back on again?
Crikey if I had to switch off the TV/Radio every time there was someone on whose politics I disagreed with it would never be on. Glad I gave the Oscars a swerve. Virtue signalling tossers. Was Paltrow there with the scent of her vagina?

Like you, I have nothing to do with any of that awards nonsense, so wouldn't know. And don't get me started on the 'bravery' of Mr Schofield and the nauseating presenter embraces as he took over the show to 'reveal' what most people aren't bothered about or half suspected anyway.

I was more shocked Schofield was married with kids. Like Barrymore, his wife was his manager. I don't suppose the marriages were career moves, were they?
