I fully agree. I think it would have done well as a single!

Or could do well as a single?

I fully agree, I'd just be a bit twitchy about the rap bit as it doesn't seem to have gone through due diligence! Surely you can't just download something from the Internet, mix it in and then make no comments or credit the guy?

Agree though belter of a track, probably very radio friendly

Sounds more like the KISS of death to me. Almost like some 'novelty' song that might have been a hit  for any forgettable one hit wonder act,and then instantly forgotten. Totally perplexed about this song. Not remotely like The Boomtown Rats. Singled out by many of the critics for ridicule.  Just not getting this one at all. disbelief

Not even sure if there is another single on the album. Nothing stands out for me.

Does it matter? The last single was arguably a flop. Next to no airplay and didnt chart. Not even in vinyl due to limited distribution.

Probably not. Though they did make 1,000 copies of TGB. Can sell them at gigs. Maybe people like the idea of buying a vinyl single to add to their collection. Airplay and chart position should not prevent  them running up 500-1000 records to sell online and at the merch stall. Not idea of the economics of this btw.smile

If we get a bit of luck, Autumn 2020 tour?

If Mother Nature decides to be a real bitch, then next year or even later. The damned thing might get seasonal and /or mutational.
