I'd love for the tour to go ahead. I'd hate to miss the chance to hear the new tracks live.
I agree. However, there is no way the tour will go ahead. We are all back to Boomtown where we've woken up from that stolen dream, to find ourselves in someone's nightmare scene, the streets will soon be like trees stripped bare, the empty offices stare.
Can't see the tour going ahead. It's starting to become like life during wartime.
Unlikely, but until a decision is made, it is still on. Just 10 days away from first date, so Brighton and Cheltenham could still happen. Unlikely, yes.
I am not sure what cancelling and closing everything will achieve. If it is as contagious as it appears to be, almost everyone will get it at some point. FWIW, I will take the risk of a night out as it is far less risky than been on the underground morning and evening which I was doing up until 7th March. I know people are dying and they probably will no matter what is done. I can understand trying to not have everyone get it at the same time, but right now it looks more likely everyone will starve. Even Ocado cancelled todays delivery, so I am gonna have to feed the family from the freezer food. Luckily I cook in bulk.
The scientific reasoning behind Britains approach is that more draconian steps wont make that much difference at this stage, are not sustainable over the longer term, and may well turn out to be counterproductive because it will lead to a second wave of infections when restrictions are eased possibly in winter, when the NHS is most stretched.
Faced with an invisible menace with extremely visible impacts, a clamour for instant and total shutdowns is understandable. But it comes accompanied by the danger that kneejerk responses by frantic governments can end up doing more harm than good.

All pubs, restaurants, creches, schools, colleges, museums in ROI closed. Cinemas have started to close.Ryanair may have to ground its entire fleet.Large amount of layoffs announced.
I tend to agree with Guardian article. Just closing everything may not be best in the longer term. However the Italians seem to advise other countries widespread closures is the correct approach.
Even if the gigs did go ahead I suspect many would choose to stay away, but it's highly likely they will be cancelled or postponed.
