best LP in 2020...

The Brighton & Hove News Music Editor has compiled a list of this years Top 50 favourite album releases. We have looked well beyond the obvious choices and have selected no doubt quite a number of surprises.

They are shown in release date order.

So Rats LP is at least equal #1 biggrin

It's about one of three albums I'm aware of from last year! I've become a grumpy old man.

Which others?

I bought Together by Vapors, Steady Drip Drip by Sparks, Live at Albert Hall by Arctic Monkeys and Beyond The Pale by Jarv Is. And a couple of live Bowie LPs (Ouvrez Le Chien & No Trendy Réchauffé)

Office Politics by Divine Comedy I got this year, but came out last year.

For what its worth Together is my favourite LP overall, though 60% of Citizens is better.

Sparks (You Tube recommendation!) and the Killers' Mirage album

I have to check out Killers, but I have found there are diminishing returns with every LP they make.  Another album I have listened to is Elvis Costellos Hey Clockface which is OK.  Also have The New Abnormal by The Strokes to listen to.  And the Bruce Springsteen LP.  Not too worried about Bob Dylan LP.

Citizens of Boomtown was definitely a really fun record for me. The Bob Dylan record was excellent.

Maybe I should add the Dylan LP to my Spotify queue. Checking lists there are a few other release from last year from Tim Burgess, Fontaines DC, Pretenders, Doves, Paul Weller, Dears, The Damned and Paul McCartney.
