Not surprised some are getting cancelled. Could be low sales or venue set up. I suspect Palladium will happen as it is all seated. The others, not so sure. All 3 I intend to go to all on at moment.
I sadly think the whole tour is going to be cancelled. I doubt the Palladium will happen. I'd like to hear some of the Citizens tracks live though and the Palladium would be a great venue to see them.
In early May Blossoms are set to play at Sefton Park in Liverpool. This is one to watch as it is an experiment to have 5000 fully vaccinated fans at a gig. No masks or social distancing are required. Lateral flow test before gig are mandatory. Post gig Covid tests will be carried out. This is fully sanctioned by the government.
The result will be eagerly anticipated by the music industry. Personally I can see it as being a success and the first large scale music event in the UK to undergo a ' Covidproof' test.
Not sure why 5 months down the line the Rats are cancelling some gigs. The one for Cardiff says 'postponed ' when I checked tonight. I still have a ticket for Brighton valid from Ents 24 to use from the first postponement last year. I read that the Glasgow gig was cancelled due to their Covid rules so not the bands fault. To be honest the Covid situation was never going to be good for ticket sales, way too much uncertainty, nevermind people being out of work.
I'd like to hear Monster Monkeys live, I get the feeling it could get interesting as it seems very free flowing and the sort of song that in less rigid . Nevermind my misgivings about Citizens of Boomtown I could put up with it heard live if only to mark the end of the Covid era.
Btw got fully vaccinated early as I work in healthcare sector, wasn't sick at any stage luckily.

If there is one that will happen it is the Palladium. Andrew Lloyd Webber has made it CoVid secure plus and it is all seated. The only thing that may lead to cancellation is poor ticket sales, but thats another matter. If this tour gets cancelled I suspect the Rats will only ever appear at festivals going forward.

The problem with cancelling some tour dates is the less than virtuous circle it generates. I see dates getting cancelled, so I dont buy for other dates and then they get cancelled...
... now I will wait until the week before to see if Brighton or Cambridge take place.
I hope they do their own headline tour again. I'd like to hear them do a longer set again.
Its now or never! I suspect they will play some dates in September/October. Also should play Ireland again. Cork or Dublin. Looking back we were spoiled when they did their long set in the tent in Cork and even more so the first gig at Hurtwood. 18 songs. Hurtwood was so good, they didnt have the eponymous song at that point
Please note: this event was formerly The Boomtown Rats. If you had tickets for The Boomtown Rats, they will now be valid for this Hawkwind performance. If you would prefer a refund, please email tickets@cambridgelive.org.uk to request one. Please note, our phonelines are not currently in operation, notification of this event change will only be made via email for existing ticket holders.
yeah I would be happy to see Hawkwind instead. NOT!
York & Liverpool not cancelled from what I can see. But this is from Facebook...
Dear Citizens
There is no certainty. No venues are yet open. The government can give no dates. The Rats are in a state of perpetual suspended animation. They cannot live in a wait and see world. They, like the fans, need to be able to get on with their lives. They don't think fans money should be held indefinitely and should be returned. Most people could do with it. The band will tour but once everything is back to relative normal and all venues are Covid compliant....
Seems to imply the tour is off. Completely.
Though Palladium is possibly the most CoVid prepared venue in Europe...
