Just seen a video on YouTube with the Rats performing Dave in Ireland.Bob talks about the passing of Garry and Sinead O Connor.
Hopefully they play it again at some point in the future. Well, hopefully they play somewhere next year. I did consider going but having spent 2 of the previous 3 weekends in Dublin, another flight to Ireland and back would have been a step too far. Besides Pulp were playing near enough on my doorstep, and despite paying an eye watering £87, it was cheaper than a free gig in Cavan. A few friends have seen them this year at the Lets Rock dates and contacted me to say they have been impressed. I suppose there is Weyfest. Maybe if a cheap ticket comes my way and rain is not forecast
The Rats are to replace Squeeze as headline act at Rewind North on Sunday night. Venue is Capesthorne Hall, near Macclesfield, Cheshire.
Squeeze were due to play Glasgow on Saturday night and Rewind as top of the bill on Sunday. Squeeze announced through social media that Glen Tilbrook 'has been taken ill' so they have cancelled those gigs for now and a very worthy replacement will step in. Hope everything turns out alright for Glen and Squeeze is the type of band that would have lots of crossover Rats fans.
Re Dave I heard it on YouTube and Geldof's voice sounded very good. Slightly worried that it's becoming a funeral song. Bob said it was Garry's favourite song.
