Bob has been voted the third place "greatest living hero" , after Burmese campaigner Aung San Suu Kyi and Nelson Mandela. This was by readers of the New Statesman magazine. Third is pretty good and thank god he came ahead of Maggie Thatcher!

That's pretty good going, just behind Mandela and Suu Kyi!!! They've put him in league with those who became political prisoners for their people and are/have personally suffering(ed) at the hands of thuggish, racist, brutish governments. Wow... that's something.

And what is Thatcher doing on there at all??? Completely baffled.

Seems a bit odd some of that list. Where is Desmond Tutu? He is definately a hero. Peter Tatchell??

Well I suppose it depends on your definition of a hero.

Now I wouldn't have put Thatcher on my personal list, but I'd have to say a fair few of heroes are on it. And I'm pleased to see Bob at no.3!

Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter are the only two US presidents listed I see! You can tell the list wasn't compiled by Americans!

Great that he's on the list but who would prefer that he was on a list for his music, i will be brave and say i would prefer his music over politics or is that being selfish
