Huh??? I looked on the ticket website and it says that the Rome gig is now taking place at Foro Italica, not Thermae???? I've emailed Musiclive to find out more.... hope that's near, my hotel is booked for close to Thermae If you know anything please post here or PM me....
Eddy is probably the best person to ask. They have maybe had to change to a smaller venue. And you can congratulate him on the world cup while you are at it.
Yes, Eddy has responded. He's so helpful. There is 8 km between the 2 venues and he's even told me which bus to catch and what time to be there to collect tickets. No-one else would tell me I looked for hotels close by and there weren't any and it suggested near where I'm staying! Rome here I come...
The semi circle at the bottom? Perhaps we are being unkind and he has an exceptional following in Italy??? In fact I hope not as I want to get to the front, the fewer the better as far as I'm concerned. Maybe he could just play to the 2 of us!
Well first of all only a few pople brought tickets, and secondly Bob is in a rather depressed state at the moment, and don"t want to play concerts, well thats what they told me in Milan.

Ah diddums! Fcuk me, here we go again Geldof cancelling concerts. Maybe Willo can explain that rather than picking on this forum.
Eddy says he talked with Bob and will reveal all on his website tomorrow. It does seem like another bad mismanagement blunder, doesn't it? 50-60 people for a venue that size?
As far as I know, given the time this info appeared here, I'm fairly sure that Jules would have left for Rome not knowing about the cancellation.
I can't speak for her, but as far as I'm concerned Bob's digging a very deep grave for himself. It was MJ and Steve with the UK - and all the rest of you who had gigs cancelled. Then just recently, the 'Influentials' being cancelled in Melbourne, now gigs in Milan and Rome. You'd think he might *just* see a bit of a pattern forming. And if his 'management' can't do the job properly, maybe, just maybe, he should look elsewhere .
AT LEAST, he could instruct his 'friends' to alert any fans he has left to the cancellation(s). I've visited nogeldof.info and it took a fair bit to even find the 'announcement' - buried deep in the 'appearances'>'tour dates', with not a mention anywhere else.
Is it just me, or is the information that gigs have been cancelled important enough to appear on the homepage of the site that claims it is the official source of information about Bob Geldof?
BTW, if you hadn't picked it up, I am a *bit* mad at the repeating patterns - and I'm half-a- world away ...
As far as I am aware the Milan concert was only cancelled after Bob had arrived at the venue. Obviously he was not told there were so few tickets sold. Very shoddy administration and promotion/management. I agree, he should sack the lot of them and start again.

Only good news on nogeldof.info. A canncelled gig should be the main item on the home page, not something you chance upon, like the links to this forum they left hanging aroud.
Personally I am so pi$$3d at a tour manager called Willo, who is so obviously incompetent, calling a forum member (possibly me) a knob and presiding over a shambles like this.
When us fans of Geldof suggested he should play small intimate venues rather than arena gigs if he has any intention of reviving the musical career he says is oh so important to him, Willo treated us like we were sh!t on his shoes and removed the link to this forum.
I don't really know what to say. I had no idea about the cancellation until we turned up at the venue. First of all the people there told us to come back later it was blocked, but there English wasn't good and theycouldn't understand us. So I called the number Eddy gave me. No-one knew what I was talking about. Later my phone rang, it was someone from MusicLive who tried to explain but she didn't speak too much English, told me something bad had happened but she couldn't say more, I was to buy a newspaper!! That was rather worrying. I managed to contact Rita and she called me back and told me what she knew.
I feel so sorry for Bob, don't be hard on him. He lost more than I did back in Italy. Although it was disappointing I could salvage something of my brief trip to Rome. I am not annoyed with anyone. But I wish Bob would just listen to us and sort out his publicity. This was shoddy that it got to the stage that I turned up at the event and it had clearly been cancelled the day before. I couldn't change my trip to Rome, but I couldn't have seen more of Rome instead of rushing back to the hotel very early to get to the gig and wasting £30 on taxi fair to the gig.
I really feel bad for Bob if his tour people are not getting him booked into smaller venues. It would be very exhausting to travel all that way and have the people working for you apparently pull the rug out from under you.
I'm sure, however, it would be hard to break even on a tour of a smaller scale, unless they could be very smart about it. I don't understand why the tour people try to book things around Bob's speaking engagements. For example, if Bob has a speaking engagement somewhere, then try to book a smaller venue the day before or after. That way, Bob would already be traveling there. That would really be the only way it would make sense; that way he's not over extended from too much traveling, which is what it sounds like is happening to him right now.
Jules, I'm glad to hear that you are spinning the situation in the best possible light. Reka, I like your new photos from your Rome experience.
peace and take care,
debm

It is unfair on Bob booking him here there and everywhere. I wonder why he puts up with it? maybe he prefers to cram it all in, so he can then get a rest all at once too?
