I meet Bob

Although the concertwas cancelled, I managed to sneek backstage.

I arrived to Arena Civica about 5.30 pm and after collecting the tickets Iaskedone of the managers to lett me give a present to Bob, she agreed and promised to mention it to Bob, 3 hours later a car arrived with Bob and Pete,I wawed at them, they wawed back. Then the manager lett me in thourgh the press entrance. there I told a journalist that I would like to meet Bob, after this he grabed my arm and tried to take me in to the bulding where the band were. Unfortunatelly a body-guard stoped us.

A half an hour later Niall came out and I asked him to please give an authograph, than shortly came Bob (not Geldof, the other Bob), Alan than Pete.

I had a talk with them and a few other of Bob"s friend Eddy and the other Happy Fan club members.

Hours passed and Bob still didn"t show up, I asked Pete "if there is a problem with bob" and he said " No, but it looks like the show will be cancelled"

Someone told me that Bob arrived to Milan just a few hours earlier, because he was in South-Africa and he missed his flieght to Italy, and he was late to the show because, he had to get some sleep,

At about 9.30 Bob came out and tried to get to the taxy, but photographers, cameramen, journalists and outraged fans blockedhis way.

He said he has to cancell the concert, becaussse only a few people showed up. (Maybe 40-50 viewers were there )

Then he promised that in September they will to another gig in Milan. but for free.

He stayed there to sing autographs and to talk with his fans, I got a hug and a kiss, and gave him the present a book of Pecs, one from Hungarian poet Miklos Radnoty, he said he "heard of him" and than asked me where are I"m from I said "Hungary" he replie "and you came here only to see this show"  "Yes". He told me to sendan e-mail to his website, and promised than is September he will make it possible for me and the other who were at the Arena that we will get to see him live for free. Ther was a taer in his eye while he talked to his fans. He also seem really tired.

Well,lets hope so.

After he left I went to Eddy, who told me that Bob is depressed and maybe the concert would have been cancelled if more people turn up, becase he didn"t really want to play.

I will upload the pictures later, because I haven"t arrined home from Italy, yet. Right now I am fritting this down at an internet cafe, I will also try to upload the video I made.

Altough the gig was cancelled,it was still worth it, meeting Bob. Wow. I couldn" even sleep after it, I was soo happy.

Thanks for that good description and I'm glad you gave him the book. I'm sure he will appreciate your gift and your loyalty to go all the way to that show; he must be impressed! We wait for your video if you have the chance but you must be exhausted! Wow!!!

I doubt it.  If he was, he would have played.  What better way to thank your fans?

It sounds like you had a pretty good experience, in spite of the concert getting cancelled.

It must be difficult to get shows set up and not have many folks attend.

peace and take care,

At least he has the decency to apologise in the video. And in your last pic, it is obvious he has been crying. I think so anyway. Good pics Reka. Glad he made you so happy. He does that to people though, doesn't he?
