Well the time has come round for me to go to Amsterdam to see the Stones. Leaving tomorrow morning and the gig is on Sunday. This week I'll have some time to see the city too! We aren't flying back until Tuesday.

I'll tell you all about it when I get back. But as my usual luck would have it I have a sore throat

Have a great gig Jules, see if they will sign the petition!

I am away next week as well for the week (sat-sat)in a cottage at the foot of a Scottish mountain overlooking the River Tay. So, will be out of touch. There is an internet cafe in the next village, so may be able to check in next week at some point.

Maybe I should take Bob with me instead of my husband. He definitely needs some relaxation just now. (Bob that is). if the weather is good, it will be great. A lovely theatre nearby, lots of country pubs and long walks.

No, he can come to Amsterdam with me, he loves the Rolling Stones and it is a good place to chill, so I'm told. He wouldn't like the seats I have though, right at the back.

Amsterdam was wonderful (can't wait to go back sometime). During the day of the gig it was spot the Stones t-shirts around town, hundreds of them! The Rolling Stones were excellent. They put on a superb show, playing many of their classics as well as few new tracks from A Bigger Bang. Mick Jagger changed clothing a few times during the show. I really don't know where he gets the energy from at his age to dance around the stage like he does. At one point, though Keith Richards took over and did a few songs. We were suspicious that Jagger went off for a quick lie down. Whatever - he came back with the same amount of energy. Whilst Keith Richards was doing the songs he promised to keep away from the trees from now on and was glad to be back.

It was extremely hot inside the stadium, they kept the roof over head. Which didn't help the cold I had, that happened to be on its worse day. Such luck I have at gigs - when I actually do get to them!

The came on with Jumping Jack Flash, I can't remember all the tracks, and we missed the very last (as it was so crowded and we wanted to ensure we got our transport back to our hotel). They hadn't played Satisfaction, so my guess is that's what we missed.

There is a WONDERFUL photographic exhibition on at the Edinburgh Festival by 1960s photographer Philip Townsend. He was the first person to use the Stones for photoshoots after they signed to their new manager. There are some really stunning B/W photos from early 60s of very young Stones. Stones on the London embankment, leaning aginst phone boxes, in their check jackets, etc. Also some good photos of early Beatles, Cilla Black, Twiggy, etc. I am afraid to say I splashed out and bought a framed print.(of 5 Stones leaning against 5 phone boxes) There is also another excellent exhibition on by Harry Benson, including early Beatles pics, with all the stories behind the photos. If anyone is up here for the Festival, I would recommend both.

IF JULES HAS A SPARE £35.000 ?

PS Jules, I think you should delete post 20 on the petition. if you read it properly it is not supportive.
