is it just me, or does anybody else think that johnny borrell from razorlight sounds like bob? just heard a couple of tracks & had to do a double take?
glad you told me that, the friend I was with is a massive razorlight fan & totally dismissed any comparison. Wait until I tell him...he will be most upset as he is no Bob fan...might lend him tonic & hope he gets the bug
If only I could find the link for you that I had. They named their first album Up All Night after the Rats song. There's some evidence. Brilliant taste in music and a brilliant band themselves.
Here is a link to where we discussed this before (on another matter). There is a link to something about Razorlight and their influences:
I was thinking there were similarities myself. I was on nights last week & in my half asleep state thought maybe my brain was playing games so glad to hear I'm not alone & the band have said so themselves

The verse to "In the morning" sounds as if Bob is singing it for sure.
In the video for the song, the Razorlight lead singer looks like a young Bob. A bit shorter, but otherwise very similar in looks and mannerisms. Uncanny.
I heard the latest single "America" on TV this morning and decided I should buy it........so I did.
The force runs strong with this band. (Rat factor extremely high in places, not just in terms of the lead vocal but also the style and arrangements.)
Reading reviews on the Amazon site it appears that Razorlight fans don't think as much of this album as the first one, but I'd have to say, on first listening there's a couple of crackin' good tracks. I'd be tempted to go see them live.
I have heard the album & agree - lots of rats influences going on. Let me know what they are like if you go & see them. I'm interested in knowing what the stage presence is like - quite good I imagine.
I went to see a band called the View last week - pretty good tight band live & one to watch out for I think. Also going to see Get Cape Wear Cape Fly in a couple of weeks after seeing them on TV doing a slot at Reading Festival - not heard anything else by them but they sounded quite good (although I had sank a few glasses of champers & half a bottle of vino by the time I heard them. Looking forward to seeing what they are all about though.
