Seemingly, series 3 of The Old Grey Whistle Test is available on DVD, Including Bob and the rats. This is an American site, but presume it is available world wide.

If you like your thrills a little less cheap, pull up a chair for volume three of The Old Gray Whistle Test. The venerable live music program that ended the BBC television evening Tuesday nights from 1971 to 1987 is sprinkled with gems both famous and obscure.

Whistle was the kind of bygone rock show that let the music speak for itself. As much as I hate the "something for everyone" cliché, it fits fine here. (The cliché police know where to find me.)

Humble Pie's Steve Marriott wails and groans his way through "Black Coffee." Post-punk and new wave sweeps in with Orange Juice ("Rip It Up"), Jesus & Mary Chain ("In a Hole") and Japan ("Ghosts"). Presenters Mark Ellen, David Hepworth and Andy Kershaw provide gloss, as do performers including Roger Daltrey and Bob Geldof.
