... take the Geldof cancellation of his gig in Milan.

Seemed pretty bad at the time, but look at the outcome.

We get an hour and a half of Geldof broadcast on the web and loads of people get to see Geldof who probably wouldn't have normally.

Ok, I can imagine the 45 who turned up in Milan last time out, particularly Reka and Eddy aren't too pleased with it, but selfishly, this was the best thing that could have happened.

Have to take my hat off to Geldof on this one.  Was very impressed with the rendition of Joey's on the Street Again.  First time I have seen Geldof live solo, and maybe if he would ditch the seats and do a few more Rats songs (or even reprise Down By The Jetty) I'd be tempted to see him (even in Milan!).

Yeah, I echo Geldof's sentiments,  Thanks MTV!

Broadcast Songs

Indifference
Love or Something
A Sex Thing
Walking Back to Happiness
Banana Republic
The Beat of the Night
Mondays
Joey
Rat Trap

Encore....

A Hole to Fill
Attitude Chicken

What about the cancellation in Rome, everyone seems to forget about that?

Well I got to go to Rome and Milan and see nothing of either

I don't want to ruin your fun, but why is everithing about that Milan concert.

There wasn't so much topics for the other concerts. Can't we just move on.

It was really that good? Yes. This was the best place a concert could happen? Yes. Will I have another chance to see an ideal Geldof concert like this? I don't think so.

He only plays in big stadiums where you can't get close to the stage. (I wanted to tape the concert) and there is just a small chance of meeting him.

Because it was broadcast in video/audio on the web (First Geldof gig to get that treatment),  and it's the last concert he's going to play for a while.  It could be the last he will ever play if he intends to only play big concerts.

I understand your feelings about it, but there's not much happening in the world of Geldof, so when there is something to discuss like this, it should be disseminated.  I have only just had the chance to view most of it, and only found the audio.  And it is less than a week ago.  Has anything else of note occured?

We didn't move on from the cancelled concerts in the UK for quite a while.  This is one of the few concerts we all can see and have an opinion on.  There will be a time to move on, but after all the cr@p in recent months, it's nice to have something like a successful gig to discuss.

I know that this was probably one of his last gigs or THE LAST that is why I'm so upset.

If I would be atleest 50 % sure that there will be another geldof concert I would buy a plane ticket imediatelly.

(I would just walk in than with that Milan ticket. I will probably try to use it if there will be a concert. If there will be.. After all I deserved that ticket and couldn't even use it.)

I wouldn't feel so depressed if the Tour Dates page of the official site was full of up coming gigs.

My bet would be the States, Canada and South America. Warm or freezing?

If you're right, maybe I should start saving for a holiday in Canada next year., just in case.
