Wow, Berlin, that's a lot closer than Dubai or Columbia!
I've never visited Berlin, so if something serious is happening there in June, it might be a good opportunity to go!
Well Bob might have "a bad reputation among German NGOs", but he sure has a good reputation among German festival-goers.
Absolutely! He has a brilliant reputation among German festival-goers, lol!! And Dutch ones, too!
I don't know yet what exactly is going to happen in Heiligendamm in June (where the G8 meet, it's on the coast of the Baltic sea and about three or four hours from Berlin by car or train, fyi Joke!). There might be some sort of concert, my guess is that Herbert Grönemeyer will be somehow involved, possibly Campino of the Toten Hosen or Wir sind Helden. There'll be some serious security, and people going there for protest marches etc won't even be let into a ten km radius, or something... But I guess going there will be a good thing anyway.
That thing in March could be interesting. In the FT article it says the first "intellectual aid" discussion will be held in the Hertie School of Governance on March 22. Their site, http://www.hertie-school.org/en/ doesn't mention the date yet, but it might be worth watching that space.
I like the title, "intellectual aid". I think it's exactly what is needed! But that approach might be what bugs the German NGOs. They probably think they don't need intellectual aid, phh...
The only thing that selfishly worries me is if he'll find time to play some festivals between all this...
Thank you so much for this info, Scottie !! When I know more, I will send you any informations I have. There will be surely a lot of articles in German newspapers then. I am so glad that this will happen in Germany.....!!
