Go to http://www.whateverittakes.org/ Click on Bob's name on the right and the links will eventually take you through what is on offer. I rather like them. I think they (not just Bob's) may be collectors' pieces of the future. -- Edited by Scottie at 17:30, 2008-05-26
My friend Ilaria, calls Geldof 'Bobert', because she used to think that Bob was the abbreviation of Bobert, not Robert! She used to think that the only way to name-calling 'a Robert' is Rob... but first I didn,t like it... It seems a mockery... then I changed idea... and now, when I talk about Geldof wit...
To the tune of Bananarama.... Bob Geldof's waiting - Talking Italian...... Check out the guy (later on) with the banana hat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjSI2yzushY nick What was that all about ?
A letter to Bob Geldof. What do you think of this video? Promises broken... http://current.com/items/76791052_a_le... Bob Geldof visited Ghana for the TV series Geldof in Africa and wrote about it in the accompanying book, describing his crowning as the Chief of Development in a town called...
Bob will be popping up on your TV screens from tonight , alongside Sir Alan Sugar and other celebs, advertising NS&I (premium Bonds for those not in the UK.) First one, I believe is after the channel 4 news at 7.35pm
I really don,t know where, but in 'Pink Floyd - The Wall' there,s a person who wears a T-Shirt and there is a writing; Bob I,ve red that there,s this young boy, who has got this T-Shirt... So, I've checked watching the movie, but I haven,t seen him... has anybody else in here seen him?
It turns out, contrary to reports ,that Tiger Lily Hutchence is NOT up for an audition for a film in Hollywood. Instead, it is a girl I have seen on TV, Tiger Lily Hutchison. I wondered about her at the time. The BBC seemingly caused this mix up. Paula's TL is older, so the other one should definitely chang...
I think this will mean a lot to Bob, how his TV series changed the way these African students look at themselves and the world. " The End of an Era of Dis-connect This week I shared a few segments of the Sir Bob Geldof video series on Africa with my class. My students live in various cities and towns in t...
From Vanderbilt University, Nashville- Geldof, the lead singer with the rock band Boomtown Rats who raised more than $120 million for famine relief in Africa with the Band Aid, Live Aid and Sport Aid events in the 1980s, will speak at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 8, on Alumni Lawn as the central event of Senio...
- not impressed with all of the strange editing special EFX. I'd like to see the concert as is, tape continuously rolling, without weird breaks, clips replayed, visual intermeshing so that we're seeing more than one thing at a time (Eva Braun pix, dancing Rat fans, etc.), etc etc. "Like Clockwork" wa...
Dutch Radio 2 will broadcast the Rats at Glastonbury (21 june 1985) next Friday April 25, between 23:00 and 24:00 CET. I hope you all will be able to listen in on http://www.radio2.nl/page/live#
When did Bob Geldof last play to an audience of 5000? Not for some time, I think. He will be joning ,Moana & The Tribe (N.Z) , Hugh Masekela (Africa), Daniela Mercury (South America), and Gocoo (Japan) on 19 may in Bonn. This may well be televised or broadcast online. I do not know yet. If I find ou...
A new series of Missing People starts on Monday on BBC1. Bob is a supporter of the charity to help reunite missing people with their families and will be featured in an interview in this first programme of the series.
I agree with the essence of what Bob is saying here entirely. Bob has a go at those rich enough to donate, then receives a big pot himself. However, what we don't know is what Bob donates himself. If he didn't, then this not the right message. Bob's genuineness is not in doubt, I must add. But given th...
Hey all - first time on the new board (I was on the old board at bobgeldof.info for a while). I just realized that I don't have a copy of "Lying Again," as it was not included in any of the new US album releases. Would anyone be able to send it to me? Thanks! JG

Just found the mp3 on soulseek. I'll upload it for you all if anyone would like it. It's a unique version, but it sounds really muddy due to him having to change the lyrics. Here's the lyrics I just typed up from listening to the mp3: RAIN The rain came pouring down yesterday and everything he loved got...
Another one, this time the song "Rain". I know I am a heathen when it comes to Rats' songs. Was this a B side? Never heard of it. Also, Is the older guy in the video Bob's dad? I dont think it is, but the cat could be one of his. I know Paula and he had a lot of cats. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...
He went off stage on Wednesday suffering from exhaustion. I've got tickets for tonight in Birmingham. They're still hoping he'll play. So do I, so wishing him well. His doctor said he'd be OK after staying in bed yesterday. I've got to phone the NEC later this morning to find out what's going on

The Olympics must be the most immoral event in the world right now. Beijing are about to hold it and despite the clampdown in Tibet (estimated 40 dead, but who knows?), a load of British athletes want to run around London with the torch and bang on about how the Olympic spirit and how the games bring the p...
I suspect this is the programme that Geldof got on his high horse about recently. The treatement of Paula Yates is sympathetic. she only appears in TV excerpts and once as a back of head show when Hughie Green tries to meet her. If Geldof's aim was to protect her children, there was nothing to be pre...
Bob has been officially nominated for the Robert Burns Humanitarian award 2008.- by me, and seconded by Jules. Got the confirmation today. The shortlist will be published on their website in march. Who could do more to follow Burns' words "Man to Man the world o'er, Shall brothers be for a' that...

Hi guys, wasn't sure where to post this on the forum, so sorry if it's in the wrong spot. I used to play in an Aussie band called sugarmoth and once upon a time we covered 'I don't like Mondays'. Now you don't have to like it, just thought you might want to hear it (and see it)... http://www.youtube.com/wat...
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. However, I always have a dilemma on my hands when I shop. Do I support local farmers and buy local produce, so that food is not flown in from thousands of miles away? Or do I support fair trade and ensure that farmers in the third world have their fair sha...
Sorry for the terrible pun, but it has got your attention and you are reading this aren't you? Musically, this is the other end of the spectrum, but one of the main themes of next year's Edinburgh Tattoo at Edinburgh castle will be "Africa". The "new" Boomtown Rats are also playing in The Robin Club(Wolvehampton) on the 6th of August.I wonder if Simon and Gary will be kind enough to let us know more dates. This might be turning into a small tour.
New venue for Bob? One of my favourite authors is Alexander McCall Smith, author of the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency novels, set in Botswana. I have met him. He is a delightful man. He lives quite near my work. (as do Ian Rankin and JK Rowling). He calls Bob Geldof "that man with the untidy hair, who s...

Geldof receives British Red Cross Humanity Fellowship Award I only found out about this today, even though it happened in November 2007. Says a lot for the man that he did not go around blowing his own trumpet, so to speak. Pics and article on http://www.fortuneforum.org/the-event.htm

Just thought I would let you know how the Geldof Appreciation Society (GAS) is going on MySpace. We now have 56 members, or friends as they are called, including an American Senator, who lists Bob as one of his heroes and the Trash Pussies. I think that is hilarious, because any bulletins that Jules or m...
